Alanya is a fast growing touristic centre on the Mediterranean coast, surrounded by green mountains, plateaus and many rivers.
It is situated 135 km east of Antalya and Alanya has a relatively moderate continental Mediterranean climate, which means it has 300 days of sun, with temperatures rarely going below 10 degrees in the winter.
Because of its beautiful nature with remarkable views on Turkey's south coast, picturesque position, good climate and certainly its wonderful beaches, Many tourists from all around the world are having vacation in Alanya, in summer and winter. The many historical buildings built by the Seldjuks also draws tourists to the area.

Alanya is a very cosy city and is suited for families with kids as well as for the younger generation. In the old town you can find many old houses, towers and mosques, as well as a nice small harbour. Alanya has a wide range of historical sites like the red tower, the castle, the caves and also in the museum you can find many historical artifacts. At the waterfront there are plenty of friendly bars, restaurants tea-houses and cafes with international and traditional cuisine. Near Alanya there is a calm river called Dim river, with picnic restaurants on the sides. It is also possible to go rafting on a wilder part of the river. There are trips to historic and cultural sites like Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Aspendos, Side, Manavgat and other places and tourists coming to Alanya often enjoy one of those day- or three-day-trips.
During winter tourists can choose between various winter sports like skiing, snowboarding and tracking on the Taurus Mountains. Golf courses are open all year around and are easily accessible. In daytime the hamams, jeep safari tours and the Dim river offer nice daily experiences. The nightlife is relaxed with a wide choice of night-spots located near the harbour like bars, clubs and restaurants (some of them with live music).
